  Training courses are offered in SCUBA diving for all levels through our associate, Lacadives. We encourage Marine Biologists to avail of this facility to acquire necessary skills for field research.
 

 

Established in 1993 as a non-profit Research and Education Organization registered as a Public Charitable Trust under the Societies Registration Act, Reef Watch Marine Conservation has been engaged in research projects & awareness initiatives for the conservation of marine ecosystems.

NDTV-Reef Watch documentary film “Underwater the hidden truth” was aired on NDTV 24X7 in June-July 2008 in 3 parts on marine issues pertaining to Lakshdweep and Andaman Islands respectively
Reef Watch Researcher awarded the National Geographic Society’s Grant in support of the project “Status and Distribution Studies of the Coconut Crab: Need for Conservation in the Nicobar Group of Islands”

A Conservation Poster “The Dugong of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands” with images and data compiled by RWMC was released by the Chief Wildlife Warden of the A & N Islands at STAPCOR 2008 in the Lakshadweep Islands.

Detailed survey of coral reef ecosystems in the A & N Islands carried out in 2006 for CORDIO and HSBC.
Extensive education and awareness programs were carried out in A & N Islands addressing a wide cross-section of populace including children, local inhabitants and village captains.
Capacity Building program in SCUBA Diving and Coral Reef Conservation & Management, sponsored by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India was carried out in the Andamans in Feb-March, 2006 for Senior Officials of the Department of Environment & Forests and Officers of the A & N Administration.
