Dear
friends,
We appeal to you for your support in
helping flood-affected people in the suburbs
of Mumbai.
We are carrying out some relief work
to people stricken by the flood waters.
In this connection, we visited an area
called Makadwala compound in Kurla and
talked to the affected people.
Though flood waters have receded now,
there is extensive damage of property.
Many of the ramshackle dwellings were
inundated, destroying provisions, clothes
and property. After talking to the people,
we found that primary requirements include
food grains, water, milk powder, sugar,
biscuits, notebooks for school children
and cash donations to facilitate the same.
There are about 2000 affected people in
this locality. We are in the process of
collecting these items for distribution
to the needy. We hope that this will help
these people to tide over the period when
they are trying to rebuild their livelihoods.
We request your support in terms of donating
any of the essential items mentioned above.
We are distributing relief materials in
this area with the help of the locals.
We are arranging to receive and consolidate
all material contributions at our Godown
